The Sony PSP Game Valkyrie has a great profile named Lenneth. For those who do not know the PSP is PlayStation Portable. Out of the entire Valkyrie Profile series Lenneth is the only one available for PSP. The Valkyrie Profile is a RPG designed for both Teens and Adults alike. Released 7 years ago and designed around the original PlayStation, the game is based on Norse Mythology and has a Valkyrie warrior who collects souls.
The Music, art, Battles and Designs are astounding and absolutely cool, and has taken Role Playing games to a whole new level. You will find yourself taken in by the music and scenes folding out before you. The Story is exceptionally told and anyone, Teens and Adults alike, will truly enjoy immersing themselves into the wild ride. The movie clips and dialog in the game only enhance this experience.
The ability that the Valkyrie Profile Lenneth has in the movements and actions is totally top notch. You can use ladders, ledges, and several other vertical movements along with the ability to freeze enemies and make Ice Crystals that makes it even more fun. You have the choice of attacking your enemies or avoiding them when needed.
You have more control in the Valkyrie Profile Lenneth than you might find in other games, such as the face buttons that allow you to pick which member of your party will attack. Your characters can knock enemies back, into the air, even slam them on the ground. This can become quite addictive. Be warned, after you get your turn of hits in, the enemy gets his own turn. The music even corresponds to the battles, giving you a real boost of morale when needed and taking the fighting level of the game to a whole new level.
As the game begins, you will find out that you are a goddess sent to Earth for the purpose of bringing souls of fallen heroes to battle for Odin. There is another reason for the Goddess to be there and that is to discover her hidden purpose. As you play the game, Lenneth’s story begins to unravel with a series of events with her Einherjar or the souls she claims as their deaths unfold. Reading the dialog, which is quite good, will help you along with your quest. Each of the fallen heroe's stories take around five minutes to watch with pictures of the emotions on the screen.
The actual play of the game separates it from other Role Playing Games as it is not only focused on the battles but also divided by chapters and periods. Going into different towns, a dungeon or simply resting takes up periods as well. Each Chapter has a certain number of periods to it and when you reach the correct number, you will start a new chapter. Another huge factor is that Lenneth is training warriors to battle in Asgard and can send them off at the end of each chapter. You will even be informed how things are in Asgard; this reminds you to keep a balance between the two.
The Valkyrie Profile Lenneth gives its players a way to be a part of the game without overloading them. Being a two dimensional game has not taken away the fun of this RPG and many a Sony PSP players will find this game a nice addition to their collection.
