As you begin the game, you will either be a female or male warrior that is nice, then you will realize that you cannot remember anything and you have a guide named Noir to guide you through the Quest and read your dialog for you. Noir is a Sorcerer and though he is exceptionally powerful, you will find that he is temperamental as well and only uses his magic when he chooses to. Sounds about right, doesn’t it. Someone powerful that makes you learn how to play better.
When choosing whom to be, you need to take caution as each have his or her own quest and though he or she seems unbeatable in the beginning, can be finished. You will also find yourself having to do other tasks such as selling items after they are appraised, and choosing the right weapons. Though many find the game lacking in graphics, it provides the ability to continually play without having to wait forever in loading times.
During Battles, you will see a chart screen that you can manipulate in the settings of the game, and this can prove to be a useful tool. The field controls are some of the games best features and the camera is definitely a good addition to the single control design. You will find that having a priest in the dungeons necessary and knowing how to heal is a plus. You will also have fighters and thieves to play with as well. You will find that, though you cannot really communicate with the other characters, there are a lot to choose from with such Races as Elves, Dwarves, Halflins, Humans, and Machines, with their classes being Fighters, Mages, Thieves, and Priest.
The monsters in this game are designed tough and will definitely give you a run for your money. You will gain Experience while playing the game and though not all monsters are necessarily hard to beat, you still gain experience. You will find yourself drawn into scenes where the two-dimensional characters show a scene, and that hidden secrets will be shown and you have to find the answers or clues.
The graphics have to be one of the most closely matched in many of the Sony PSP games. Valhalla Knights was designed with the PSP in mind.
