Sony Play Station’s long awaited hand held arrived and with it, a whole new experience for the gamer, the music lover, the movie watcher and a host of other people.
The target market seems to be more of an adult audience than has been targeted by this type of setup in the past. Unlike some of it’s worthy predecessors, the Play Station Portable isn’t just for gamers, but for serious geeks too.
The PSP has a little something for everyone, whether it’s the serious music listener or the movie watcher, you can do that and a lot more.
PSP with Photos...
Photographs that have been cropped or matched to the Play Station Portable’s resident resolution of 480x 272 pixels look bright, sharp and detailed. The black levels of this LCD screen are impressive, as are the colours, resulting in great looking images.
The file information is readily displayed for you and you have the option to institute a slide show or zoom in to various aspects of the image that you are currently viewing. A great deal like Windows, you can get filenames, date of creation as well as watch a slide show of your photos.

Sony use their own video format, which is understandable, but the image quality and amazing detail makes up for this.

PSP has a built in WIFI wireless connection, making it incredibly easy to set up and get online.
Simply name your connection, input and sid access point name and a wep key if you need it. Then, move on to the IP and DNS settings, which are equally as simple to input, particularly if you use automatic settings for dhcp.
When your setup is completed, there is a network test that will give you the strength of your incoming signal, as well as whether you were successful in connecting to the Internet.

PSP Slim and Lite... Slimmer Machine, New Capabilities
Sony have produced an updated version of the Playstation Portable called: PSP Slim and Lite. As the name suggests this is 33% lighter and 19% thinner than the original PSP design.
However, it is not just the look that is changing - the new PSP is also getting video-out capability! So now if you are watching a movie or playing a game, you can connect your PSP to your TV. Simply buy the new TV cable to connect you PSP to your television set, press the display button on the Play
Station Portable and you can now watch your PSP movies. or play games on the big screen.
The new PSP Slim and Lite comes in a choice of colours too. Those who prefer the classic black will still be able to find that in the PSP Core Pack.
There will also be specials bundles with limited edition designs, such as the Daxter Entertainment Pack with a silver PSP, the hit action/ platformer game Daxter, a UMD version of family Guy: The Freakin' Sweet Collection and a 1 GB memory stick.
In addition, newer games will now load faster and you can charge up your PSP via the PS3.
