This game is actually set in between the PlayStation 2 games Jak & Daxter and Jak II when Jak, unfortunately, found himself in prison. So unlike the previous games, Daxter gets to be the star.
Daxter uses his big mouth (as usual) and finds himself working as an exterminator. Haven City has become overrun with bugs, bugs, and more bugs. The old man (owner of the extermination company Daxter now works for), has found himself desperate for help in keeping up with getting rid of all of those bugs.
As an exterminator Daxter gets to go into places that are not normally accessible by the public, so that is pretty cool. This is when Daxter realizes that he can get himself closer to Jak. Daxter has his electric flyswatter to kill some bugs, and maybe even rescue Jak in the mission.
Daxter can jump up, crawl to get into small spaces, double jump, and swat all the bugs with his electric flyswatter. The game will give you new weapons, new attack methods, and even a bug sprayer that you can use to help you kill multiple bugs at the same time. You even get the chance to hover and sort of fly over certain areas by using your bug sprayer as a sort of jet pack, but in only works in short distances. If you find an open flame in the game you can use the bug sprayer and turn it into an instant flame thrower. Sweet! With all of these cool moves and attacks you will find it fun because of the variety of things involved.
Many platform games have the sore reputation of doing the same thing over and over again that just leaves you bored out of your mind before you even finish the game. Daxter is the exception to this rule! You will not get bored with this platform game. You will be excited to find out what is coming next, what is in the next level, and what situations are awaiting you. You just might like it so much that you would finish the entire game in one sitting. Yes, it really is that good !
